  • Every day, 10 million Australians are active on Facebook, of which 9 million are on a mobile device (Business Insider)


  • In just one year (2014), the number of video posts per person on Facebook increased by 52% in Australia (Business Insider)


  • Australian users are on Facebook all day, although it does bump up in the afternoon and the evening (Business Insider)


  • Of those Australians that have discovered new information on Facebook, 60% would go on to learn more and about 35% of people who have discovered a business or product on Facebook would share that with their friends (Business Insider)


  • 7 million+ Australian LinkedIn registered users (LinkedIn)


  • Among internet users, 68% use social networking site (Sensis)


  • 49% of Australian social media users access social media sites every day (Sensis)



  • 32% of Australian businesses follow businesses or brands (Sensis)


  • 19% of Australian social media users conduct research into products and services (Sensis)


  • Of those that conduct research, half go on to make a purchase (49%) and two-thirds (63%) make that purchase online (Sensis)





Social also plays a role in the decision-making process:
